DARLINGTON POINT

Darlington Point was established in 1864 on a bend in the Murrumbidgee River, where road and river traffic converged.

Paddle steamers were serving the area as long ago as 1850, with a public wharf being built in 1881.

The river was crossed by punt until 1904 when a lift-span bridge was built and used until 1979, when the new bridge was opened.  The old bridge towers have been reconstructed at the entrance of the town caravan park.

The town offers many recreational activities in the vast State Forest areas around Darlington Point, including picnic areas, bushwalking, camping, swimming and fishing in the Murrumbidgee River.

Stroll through the forest glades and feast your eyes on the colourful bird life - parrots, cockatoos, robins, swans, ducks, pelicans, spoonbills and kingfishers on the the lagoons.

Darlington Point residents and business operators are proud of their town and invite your to enjoy its charm

Bne Ekibin Lions of MD201, Australia

As an extension to the Turkish Lions' contribution, the Brisbane Ekibin Lions Club of MD 201 Q1 (Australia) offer assistance to Lions Clubs who want to take advantage of the Turkish Lions offer, but are not familiar with web publishing. They've already set up many sites for Lions Clubs world-wide, using Lionwap.
If your club wants to be on the internet, and would like some help, leave a message in the Ekibin Guest Book by clicking on the image above.  This is a FREE SERVICE, so you don't spend a cent for their work. As Lionwap is also FREE, this means you get a web site that you NEVER have to pay for. - Is that a deal or what?!
